STEPHEN JOHNSON WRITER/DIRECTOR
From a background in fine art and music, Stephen studied Graphics
and Film at Anglia University, broadening his experience with employment
as a police photographer and Editor in a corporate video house, before
entering the industry as a Runner in 1999. Moving from television
Light entertainment into commercial and music video production, Stephen
worked on promos for Ronan Keating and U2, gaining valuable work experience
on feature films such as ‘The Mummy Returns’, ‘102
Dalmatians’ and ‘Bridget Jones’ Diary’, before
joining MJZ in 2002. Having played an instrumental role in setting
up the company’s UK division, Stephen currently works as a Director’s
Assistant to high profile international figures such as Rocky Morton,
Dante Ariola and Spike Jonze. Recently Stephen has been heavily involved
in the production of music promos for artists such as Bjork and campaigns
for brands including Playstation, whilst actively seeking to develop
his own work.
SCOTT JAMES BASSETT WRITER/DIRECTOR/PRODUCER
As a published poet, Scott’s passion for the cinema is rooted
in a firmly held belief in the importance of the script. Gaining both
A Levels and a Degree in Film Production, Scott entered the industry
as a Runner, working initially in television. He was able to move
into feature film, through working on a series of award winning shorts
for the National Film & Television School. Moving up quickly from
an Assistant capacity, Scott has worked on a range of international
film projects over the past three years, gaining more than 15 feature
film credits as a Production Co-ordinator. Having recently completed
work on Oscar nominated Director Sally Potter’s latest feature
film ‘YES’, starring Sam Neill & Joan Allen, Scott
has completed an intensive Screenwriting workshop at the National
Film & Television School and is currently employed as Production
Co-ordinator on the BBC Films/UK Film Council financed picture ‘The
Boys’, for Producer Ruth Caleb.
FRANZISKA LINKE PRODUCER
Originally from East Germany, Franziska studied Film & Drama at
The University of Reading where she Produced documentary films, before
returning to her native city, Berlin in 1999 to begin an internship
at X Filme Creative Pool. Franziska worked for internationally renowned
directors such as Wolfgang Becker and Tom Tykwer on films such as
‘The Princess and The Warrior’. Advancing rapidly to the
position of Assistant Line Producer, Franziska worked on a string
of critically acclaimed feature films including ‘Never Mind
The Wall’, ‘Good Bye Lenin!’ and the Miramax Co-produced
‘Heaven’, starring Cate Blanchet and adapted from a screenplay
by the late Krzysztof Kieslowski. Based currently in London, Franziska
is employed as an Assistant to Michael Nyman, the award winning composer
of feature films such as 'Gattaca’, ‘Wonderland’
and ‘The Piano’.
