| THE FLAME47 PARTNERSHIP:
Flame47 is the production company of emerging Writer, Director and producing partnership Scott James Bassett and Stephen Johnson. As highly regarded film professionals whose collective experience encompasses award-winning feature films, single dramas, documentaries and commercials, they formed Flame47 as a place to generate and produce original projects of their own.
The concept of Flame47 is based on the temperature (forty-seven degrees centigrade) that nitrate film stock bursts into flame. With projects to provoke, inspire and entertain, Flame47 means to ensure that the temperature stays high. Uniquely British in essence, yet international in scope and ambition, the partnership is focused on intelligent narrative driven motion pictures with wide audience appeal. With a belief in emotional truth, rich visual storytelling and the screenplay as the absolute foundation of good filmmaking, Flame47 means to produce emotionally charged essential cinema, films that will resonate with a global audience and linger long in the imagination.
The partnership made its debut with the ambitious short film thriller “Hunger”. A UK/Croatian co-production filmed on location in Zagreb, “Hunger” features stunning visuals and a mesmerising performance from Nadia Cameron-Blakey (“Last Chance Harvey”, “Batman Begins”). “Hunger” premiered in Official Selection at the 2009 Palm Springs International Short Film Festival and following successful competition screenings at the LA Shorts Fest, the Vancouver International, Pula, Capalbio, New York City Horror and the Victoria Film Festivals, the film was invited to have its UK premiere in the prestigious “Best of British” competitive section at the 2009 Encounters Film Festival. The partners are currently developing a slate of projects, including their debut feature film, the lyrical ghost story “Black Beds”.
